That’s what was said Madame Figaro, who erected a long portrait of presidential candidate through the eyes of his relatives, notably his daughter, Émilie Pécresse. Published this Saturday, January 22, this article also tells us that the current president of the Île-de-France region has narrowly missed her vocation. Indeed, after remaining eight years on the Council of State, Valérie Pécresse applied to become deputy director of the National Center for Cinema and the Moving Image (CNC).
However, his application is refused. The reason ? She is pregnant. “What’s wrong with women’s careers? asks Valérie Pécresse, shocked. Me, I lived it in my flesh. I’m in politics because I was denied my dream job. It happened to me a second time for the same reasons when the Deputy General Secretariat of the Council of State opened. ‘My my my ! It’s not going to be possible’, I was told.”

The third was the good one
The first professional experiences of Valérie Pécresse went badly. Fortunately, these first two refusals were also the last. “I don’t victimize myself. Because, the third time, it was the opposite. Michel Gentot offered me the post of government commissioner [maintenant rapporteur public, ndlr] to the Council of State. There, I warned him right away, ‘Listen, I’m pregnant’. His repartee was without appeal : ‘You don’t think it’s going to influence?’ Not only was I hired but he imposed a man to do my interim, it had never been seen“, confided Valérie Pécresse to Madame Figaro.
It is undoubtedly this experience that gave candidate LR the desire to defend gender equality, one of the central points of her political program for the presidential election.
