Alarm in Leoben: On Tuesday afternoon, a gas leak was discovered in an apartment building – there was a large fire brigade operation! The residents and neighboring houses were evacuated.
At around 3 p.m., during a routine inspection of an apartment building, a gas leak was noticed in one of the apartments. Since the measurement of the gas value showed that the standard value was exceeded many times over, all residents of the affected house as well as the immediately adjacent apartment buildings in the danger area were evacuated. A detailed investigation revealed that a defective gas boiler was the cause of the gas leak. The all-clear was given in the evening. After successful measures by the fire department, all parties were able to return to their apartments and the short-term road closures were lifted at 4:30 p.m.
