Star Wars: EA announces the development of three video games at Respawn

Several games from the Star Wars universe are in development everywhere: it’s what we call an open secret But we have just learned that Electronic Arts is in charge of three of them via Respawn studio.

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order has had quite a resounding success among fans of the space opera saga. Aware that Star Wars is in good hands with the Respawn studio, EA has obviously entrusted the team with three additional games. The news came via Twitter:

We’re thrilled to officially announce THREE new Star Wars games in the works at Respawn.

Game Director Stig Asmussen and his team are working on the next game in the Fallen Order series, which is already known to be in development. But two new teams have just been created for two new games, including a first-person shooter and a strategy game. The latter is developed thanks to a production collaboration with the new studio Bit Reactor which you talked about very recently here. We can therefore assume a turn-based tactical game, without getting too wet.

News soon for Star Wars?

Work on these three projects has already begun, and Respawn is looking for talent to join the teams. Indeed, additional information on available job openings can be found on Respawn Careers. While many positions are open, Californians are mainly looking for artists, game designers and developers by the dozens. Yes, dozens. It’s been a long time since the Star Wars universe had the right to a real FPS or a strategy game, a prospect that could leave you dreaming… No?
