Google has released a new version of the desktop version of its browser. There are no groundbreaking innovations here, but the update to Chrome 98 is definitely worth it. According to the group, 27 vulnerabilities patched. Eight of these had a “high” risk, although Google is reluctant to provide further details. In addition to more security, there are also a few small new functions.

In the share icon of the address bar are new ways to share content to find. Users can send links to friends or to their own smartphone. QR codes can also be generated at this point. In addition, there is now the practical option of streaming a tab directly to another device. However, nothing has changed in the sharing function for social networks such as Facebook or Twitter.

Chrome 98 also comes with a new screenshot tool, which, however, is hidden and only enabled via the Chrome flags (chrome://flags/#sharing-desktop-screenshots).
