TEST Gran Turismo 7: so this PS4 edition, good or bad?

That’s it, Gran Turismo 7 is finally available on our shelves. The baby of Polyphony Digital has something to titillate and invites itself on the two platforms of Sony Interactive Entertainment, the PS5 and the PS4. We have looked into this experience and we have given you our impressions of the “new gen” edition. It is therefore time for us to share with you our opinion on the other version, namely this seventh episode running on our good old consoles. Verdict?

Gran Turismo 7 is a very good car simulation on PlayStation 4.

We are not going to go over all the modes, but only dwell on the visual differences. First of all, we thought that the title would turn in 30 fps, it is not. The developers have done a very good job of having a smooth and easy-on-the-eyes game. So the frame rate wavers in the 60 frames per second, it’s a joy. But to get this result, our friends had to make a few concessions here and there.

Thereby, various decor elements have been removed ; for example, there is less brush or people in the stands. Another point, there is a bit ofaliasing and the popping is a little more present. Finally, the loading times are a bit long. But beyond these imperfections, this production has something to titillate the peepers. Reflections, shadows, play of light, weather, car modelling, we have here an opus that holds up well on our beautiful PS4.

You are certainly asking yourself this question: what about experience in all this? Well, it remains intact! The grip is amazing, the developers were able to bring players realistic driving in a virtual world, and this is the main thing. What’s more, the gameplay with a DualShock 4 is fun and the vibrations start at the right time to try to make us feel the tremors of our racing car. Even if visual alterities are there, Gran Turismo 7 is a very good car simulation on PlayStation 4.
