Sentenced to life imprisonment on February 18 for the murder of Maëlys, Nordahl Lelandais was again tried on Wednesday March 9 by the Vienna court for acts that occurred during his incarceration.
Condemnations pile up for Nordahl Lelandais. This Wednesday, March 9, the murderer of little Maëlys was judged by the court of Vienna for concealment. He was accused of having used two cell phones in his cell, which is illegal. Indeed, in December 2021, the supervisors found a first telephone under the covers of his bed during an unexpected search. Two weeks later, another device was discovered.
During his trial before the Assises de l’Isère in Grenoble last February, these two laptops were mentioned by the civil parties. They had explained that Nordahl Lelandais had used it to consult pornographic sites and create a Facebook profile. A proof that the man had not changed according to the lawyers of the parents of Maëlys, after having already spent four and a half years behind bars.
The ex-companion of Nordahl Lelandais also sentenced
Nordahl Lelandais was therefore tried this Wednesday morning during a non-public hearing, according to the so-called appearance procedure for prior recognition of guilt. He was finally sentenced to an eight-month suspended prison sentence. A sentence which, de facto, is added to that which he received on February 18, namely life imprisonment, accompanied by 22 years of security, for the kidnapping, sequestration and murder of little Maëlys . His ex-girlfriendwho had provided him with the telephones during visits to the prison, was given a six-month suspended prison sentence.
But Nordahl Lelandais is not done with justice. An instruction concerning facts ofsexual touching of one of her cousins, then 14 years old, in March 2017, is still ongoing. A trial in this case is expected to take place by the end of the year.
