The US Democrats have named Joe Biden as their presidential candidate. There is prominent support from Bruce Springsteen.
As expected, the US Democrats nominated Joe Biden (77) as their presidential candidate at their party conference. In his fight against incumbent Donald Trump (74) Biden also has support from Bruce Springsteen (70, "Born in the U.S.A."). The singer has released a new video for his 2002 song "The Rising".
It shows, among other things, helpers in the coronavirus pandemic and "Black Lives Matter" protests. Springsteen and his wife Patti Scialfa (67) also make a brief appearance in the clip. Biden is shown in the video giving a speech declaring, "We are the United States of America. There is nothing we cannot do if we do it together."

Just recently, Bruce Springsteen had sent a haunting message to Trump on his radio show on SiriusXM. The musician began his message that he would first "turn to the man who sits behind the resolute desk". "With all due respect, sir, show some consideration and concern for your countrymen and your country. Put on a damn mask!" Trump has already been criticized several times for not wearing mouth and nose protection during his official trips through the country.
On his "E Street Radio" program, Springsteen also said, "With the more than 100,000 Americans who have died in the past few months and the empty, shameful reaction from our leaders, I was pissed off." He added: "These people deserve better than being inconvenient statistics for our president's reelection efforts. It is a national disgrace."
