Larry King: He speaks "with a broken father's heart"

Larry King commented on the deaths of his two children Andy and Chaia King on Facebook. They died within just three weeks.

Hard stroke of fate for Larry King (86): The talk show host had to cope with the death of his son and daughter within just three weeks. After the US magazine “People” reported on King's loss last weekend, citing an anonymous source, the TV icon commented on it in a Facebook post.

"In grief and with a broken hearted father, I acknowledge the loss of two of my children, Andy King and Chaia King. Both were good and kind souls and we will miss them dearly," writes King in his post. Andy died unexpectedly of a heart attack on July 28th, and Chaia lost the battle against a recently diagnosed lung cancer on August 20th. "Losing you feels so unfair. No parent should have to bury a child," explains the moderator. "My family and I thank you for your compassion and your best wishes. At this moment we need a little time and privacy to be able to look forward again."

Chaia was 52 years old, according to CNN, her brother Andy 65. King's late daughter was from his marriage to ex-wife Alene Akins. He had adopted Andy, Akins' son from a previous relationship. Akins and King married in 1961, and separated two years later. They got together again in 1967, but divorced again in 1972. King also has son Larry King Jr. with ex-wife Annette Kaye and sons Cannon and Chance King with ex-wife Shawn King.
