6 underrated breaks we’re taking now. But something!

Breaks are important – we know that, of course. But do we do them? No, it’s still possible after all. There are some things we should recover from every now and then. That’s why we’re taking breaks now – on different levels.

We know that we don’t work constantly, aren’t always on call for friends and family and can also solve problems on the side. In fact. Still, most of us haven’t learned to set and follow boundaries to protect ourselves. This also includes: breaks. And by that we don’t just mean having a quick cup of coffee and then back to business. But also these ones, which we like to underestimate, but which cost us a lot of energy if we don’t do them.

1. Body break

Do you sometimes feel like a collection of body junk? Legs are heavy, neck completely tense, headache, tired and not able to concentrate. Then you obviously haven’t listened to what your body was telling you for a long time, namely: “Hey, jump on the sofa and rest, I can’t take it any longer!”. And quite honestly: Then you should also listen to him, otherwise it won’t get any better. If you tend to suffer from tension, a quiet yoga session can also help. The main thing is that you give yourself and your unrelaxed body a break before it gets really bad.

2. Human break

They exist, the so-called energy vampires. Only when your battery is about to have an emergency supply is it not so clever to let the rest of the power be drained from you. Take a look inside what your energy level is saying. If that already screams that you urgently need to recharge your batteries, only allow yourself time with people who are good for you or completely alone.

3. Head break

This is probably the hardest-fought break. Getting your head to shut up instead of brooding in a loop or solving problems. But that also draws a lot of energy. To give your upper body a rest, you can challenge it with exercise, meditation or a walk to strengthen your mental power again and sleep better.

4. Feeling pause

If you always feel like you have to control and suppress your emotions, it can become incredibly exhausting over time. So break the cycle: say how you feel and stop pretending for other people. Give yourself a break from feeling.

5. Creative break

Creativity dies when we are completely energized and tense. Especially in jobs where it is important to develop ideas and be innovative, stress and tension are the deadly enemies that slow down any form of creativity. When you feel like you can’t produce anything good anymore or you feel completely empty, it helps to take the pressure off and give yourself a break so that your brain is ready for new ideas again.

Too loud, too garish, too colourful, too stinky, too much input: our recording capacities are exhausted. What would do us good: A power nap on the couch. Close your eyes, hear or see nothing. A break for all our senses. And then, when the overstimulation has subsided, we’re fresh and ready for something new.
