Without wife Meghan: Prince Harry alone at the Invictus Games in London

For Prince Harry (39) it is a matter of the heart: the youngest son of King Charles III. (75) will return to London next week for the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games, which he launched in 2014. It has long been speculated whether the royal will be accompanied by his wife Meghan (42) and their two children Archie (4) and Lilibet (2).

As the “Daily Mail” now reports, the renegade royal will travel to London without his family. A spokesman for the couple confirms that Duchess Meghan will not take part in the anniversary sporting event for wounded and sick soldiers.

Meetings with King Charles and brother William excluded

To mark the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games, Prince Harry will attend an anniversary service at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London on Wednesday, May 8. On the official Instagram account The sporting event said: “Our patron, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, actor Damien Lewis and members of the global Invictus community will join us to celebrate the occasion.”

It is unlikely that Harry will meet his brother, heir to the throne William (41) or other members of the royal family during the anniversary celebration. Neither the Sussexes’ office nor Buckingham Palace have confirmed that Harry will meet his father King Charles III, his brother Prince William or his sister-in-law Princess Kate (42). It is Harry’s first trip to the UK since the Princess of Wales’ cancer diagnosis was announced.

Duchess Meghan on her way to Nigeria

Meanwhile, Harry’s wife, Duchess Meghan, accepted an invitation from Nigeria’s highest-ranking military official to take part in “cultural activities” as part of an unofficial royal visit, the Daily Mail further reports. The pair met the African country’s chief of defense staff last September during the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf.

The “Suits” actress is of Nigerian descent herself, as she revealed in her podcast “Archetypes”. Through a genealogy test, Meghan learned that she was 43 percent Nigerian. It is believed that Prince Harry will travel to Nigeria to join his wife Meghan following the anniversary celebration of his Invictus Games.
