Next week, Google will launch the 2022 edition of its major annual developer conference, Google I/O. Like every year, this should be an opportunity for the firm to present the next expected innovations on its services, operating systems, applications and on Android 13. However, hardware could also be on the agenda. In particular, we expect the presentation of the manufacturer’s first watch, the Google Pixel Watch.

It seems that Google has even more up its sleeve. This week, leaker Jon Prosser posted information on Twitter about future wireless headphones from Google, the Google Pixel Buds Pro.

He indicates in his tweet that the headphones will be launched “soon” in four colors: real red (true red), carbon (carbon), limoncello and fog (fog). We can therefore expect red, black, yellow and light gray hues. As usual, information from Jon Prosser remains to be taken with a grain of salt. The leaker is used to multiplying leaks, making mistakes regularly. On Google products, however, Jon Prosser has a relatively reliable track record.

Many new audio features coming to Android 13

Above all, the leaker’s information is seconded by Mishaal Rahman, the former editor of XDA Developers. In a message quoting that of the American leaker, he indicates that he would not “absolutely not surprised” of such an announcement. He indicates that such a product launch could allow Google to highlight certain features planned for Android 13 and which could be presented more this week during the Google I/O. And Mishaal Rahman to cite the support for spatial audio with tracking of head movements as well as the arrival of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Audio on the next Android update. These two new features could be supported on the Pixel Buds Pro to automatically offer headphones compatible with these two features.

Remember that audio could be at the heart of the Google I/O conference next week. Last January, the firm had already announced several new features coming to Android, including spatial audio with head movement tracking, multipoint Bluetooth management, better management of Google Fast Pair or simplified connection to Android TV televisions. or ChromeBooks. Google then gave an appointment “in the coming months” without further details.
