Xiaomi 12 Lite repeats the biggest flaw of the 11 Lite

The Xiaomi 12 Lite announces a new mid-range smartphone that has been improved in many areas in order to be able to keep up with the in-house competition. However, Xiaomi continues to save on one point and that could become a real problem – especially since this was already known with the Xiaomi 11 Lite.

Xiaomi 12 Lite with a relatively small battery

We found out some time ago that Xiaomi is technically upgrading the 12 Lite. That also has to happen, because in-house smartphones from Redmi and Poco now offer much better equipment. This will include a 120Hz display, a 108MP camera and faster charging technology. But Xiaomi remains true to one point, namely that relatively small battery of 4,300 mAh.

The Xiaomi 11 Lite was very thin and light. This is exactly what will also apply to the Xiaomi 12 Lite. But considering the 120 Hz display, the 4,300 mAh battery is simply too small. I am currently testing the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G with a 4,500 mAh battery and find the battery to be too small. I can easily get through the day with my cell phone and still have a buffer, but not much more is possible. With the Xiaomi 12 Lite, it could be enough for a day with a little more use.

The Xiaomi 11 Lite is a really great smartphone:

Strong alternative to the 12 Lite from Xiaomi

One actually expects a really thick battery from Xiaomi, which ensures a long runtime. And you can get that too, if you want. The Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G with a 4,500 mAh battery would be an example. The battery can be fully charged in just a few minutes with an incredible 120 watts. I find that even more interesting Poco X4 Pro 5G with 5,000 mAh battery, which basically has the specifications of the Xiaomi 12 Lite, is already available and only costs 300 euros (check it out at Poco). It just looks a bit different and doesn’t belong to the Xiaomi 12 series, but it’s technically the same cell phone – only with a larger battery at a probably lower price. It is not yet known what the Xiaomi 12 Lite will cost.
