Shroud is known to be one of the most mechanically gifted players of all time, but apart from his few short stints in competition in recent years, he has shown no interest in returning to professional level since his retirement. on Counter-Strike.
However, on July 7, the 28-year-old shocked everyone by announcing that he would be joining Sentinels’ Valorant roster and would therefore be returning to competition in August, with the VCT LCQ.

“I was having dinner, we had to leave around 11 p.m. Our cars were there ready to go when Yoni from Loaded said ‘hey, I can throw your name in the Sentinels roster for the LCQ as their 5th player‘” explains Shroud.
“I said yes, and then he said I had to go to training camp and I had to go all out. So I said yes, of course, I’m not going to start halfway, that would be stupid. It would just be a bad decision, you know? For me and for the team. They all thought I was kidding. But it wasn’t” he then added.
While this won’t be the first time we’re going to see Shroud play competitively in Valorant, it’s sure to be the most interesting.
With a Valorant Champions ticket on the line, all eight league teams will pull out all the stops in hopes of making it to Istanbul.
