Stiftung Warentest put 13 Blu-ray players through their paces in the price range from 88 to 400 euros. First place was secured with the grade “good” (1.9). Sony UBP-X700. Sony’s Blu-ray player even got a straight A in the “Picture and Sound” test category. In addition to playing UHD Blu-rays, 4K streaming is also possible. The Sony UBP-X700 supports HDR10 and the dynamic HDR technology Dolby Vision, but not the competitor HDR10+. 3D playback is also possible, and various video and audio formats are also supported. Apps such as Netflix and YouTube are installed, unfortunately an extension is not possible.
