Super-sampling techniques are more than ever the future of graphics cards. NVIDIA does not intend to lose its leadership.

In its first version, NVIDIA’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) had not been very successful. However, the company quickly learned from its mistakes and the release of V2 was welcomed by a large majority of gamers, who can now rely on DLSS3.

DLSS 1/2/3: soon 400 games and software

Faced with the physical limitations of GPUs and the difficulty of ever-increasing performance, the major players in the graphics card market are all taking the super-sampling path.

The idea is simple, it involves having the graphics card calculate a scene in an image definition lower than that which will actually be displayed and leaving the resizing to more or less efficient algorithms. In the case of NVIDIA, this is what justifies the use of the term Deep Learning, artificial intelligence is also involved.

Today, while NVIDIA can boast of approaching 400 titles (games and applications combined) on the three versions of DLSS, AMD is still behind with 250 current and future titles affected by FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 1/2. Finally, Intel’s XeSS is too young to rise to the level of its competitors.

Diablo IV, Forza Horizon 5, Redfall…

What impresses right now is the speed of ads and support. Of course, AMD is logically going there with its multiple announcements and the FSR3 should speed things up even more, but NVIDIA seems to be going a little faster.

Our colleagues from WCCFTech point out that DLSS3 is adopted seven times faster than DLSS2 and the pace does not seem to be slowing down, quite the contrary. Thus, NVIDIA has just indicated that the Forza Horizon 5 from Playground Games was going to be DLSS3 compatible very soon, but above all that Diablo IV itself will be stamped DLSS3 as soon as it is released on June 6.

Of course, NVIDIA will not stop there. She confirmed, for example, that red fall will be entitled to DLSS3 processing when it launches on May 2. In addition, several independent games will also be supported, such as Deceive Inc., Seize, Smalland: Survive the Wilds And THE FINALS.
