a big bug completely breaks the game

A new bug has just hit Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. However, this one is a bit special, since it is not a drop in fps or a glitch. It literally prevents you from playing. Be careful!

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the latest opus of the license, has a rather special history with bugs. When it was released, they were legion and the pill had difficulty getting through to the fans. Obviously, since then, most of the problems have been fixed, but they returned in force with the release of the DLC. To compensate for this, the developers have deployed update 2.0.1. This was supposed to put an end to the technical problems encountered by trainers. Unfortunately, a new complication has arisen and it completely breaks the game.

The latest Pokemon games still have big bugs

If you have just started the adventure, or you are far from the end, then there is no need to worry. This bug only concerns the last quest of the Game Freak title. It has been identified and methods are already available to dodge it until it disappears. During the finale of this famous mission entitled “Return to Basics”, you will have to face either Koraidon or Miraidon. It depends on your version of the game. This is the precise moment that Pokemon Scarlet or Violet can crash depending on a certain action.

Two conditions must be met to trigger this bug. This way you will know how to avoid it in the future. The first requires having Koraidon or Miraidon registered in the Pokédex. The second takes place in the selection menu of your Pokemon. If you navigate between the first three slots and the legendary slot, everything will work like clockwork. However, try selecting slot 4, 5 or 6, and drama awaits you. The game shuts down and it is then impossible to complete the final battle.

A DLC that is slowly getting back on its feet

On September 13, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet welcomed Volume 1 of its expansion called The Buried Treasure of Zone Zero. However, “The Turquoise Mask” encountered major problems. As we explained above, many bugs had been reported by the community. Unstable framerate, characters that become misshapen, camera that disappears into the ground, in short, it was difficult to enjoy it. Since then, a number of fixes have been added, but one fear remains. Will Volume 2, “The Indigo Disc”, suffer the same scourge? While its release date remains unknown, the community hopes that it will be free of these technical issues, unlike the base game and Vol. 1.
