a big change for this important feature

As is often the case, Sony is evolving one of the many important features of the PS5, which should please some owners of the console.

Sony is doing everything to ensure that PS5 players have a satisfying experience on their console. The latest update of the machine brings several interesting features such as 3D audio compatibility with Dolby Atmos hardware or support for M.2 SSDs, capable of storing up to 8 TB of data. Important new features for players, but that’s not all. Another feature of the console is also evolving in the right direction.

Sony improves an important PS5 feature

PS5 Remote Play just got a little better. In its latest update, Sony improves its functionality which allows you to play your games remotely on another third-party screen (with a good Internet connection). As of today, remote playback is available on devices running Android TV OS 12. The manufacturer adds that compatibility has been verified with the following devices:

  • Chromecast with Google TV (4K model)
  • BRAVIA XR A95L TV

To use Remote Play on these media, you obviously need to download the Android application of the same name from the Play Store. Remember that you can very well use the DualSense or the Dualshock 4 to play on another screen thanks to this functionality. Sony’s remote play technology still has a bright future ahead of it, since Remote Play will be essential to the operation of the PlayStation Portal, a sort of PS5 Portable that the Japanese manufacturer has finally made official after months of rumors.

No, it is not a spiritual successor to the PSP, contrary to what players hoped for. The PlayStation Portal will unfortunately not be able to play games natively, so you will need at least an Internet connection of at least 5 Mb/s to play. For an optimal gaming experience, Sony still recommends a very high-speed Internet connection with a speed of at least 15 Mb/s. Remember that the console will be released on November 15 in France. Perfect timing to enjoy Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on the machine shortly after its launch on PS5.
