While a highly anticipated Netflix series arrives in a few hours, the platform presents another April 2024 release that should get people talking.
Netflix is having one of its best months ever. Subscribers can already sit down to watch Godzilla vs. Kong, the three Beverly Hills Cop films or let themselves be absorbed by the complete GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka. The cult anime which has 43 episodes. But during the following days, the service will also offer exclusive and completely new content such as Rebel Moon Part 2, the live-action feature film Nicky Larson, Parasyte: The Gray or even a series which belongs to the same universe as a previous one show N well appreciated.

The fantastic will be in the spotlight in the April 2024 Netflix releases with the series Dead Boy Detectives. An original creation by Steve Yockey (The Flight Attendant), produced by Greg Berlanti (You) and written by Neil Gaiman, the author of Sandman. And this last information is important since the project is directly linked to this. Indeed, the Dead Boy Detectives, a duo of detectives, appeared for the first time in the DC comics Sandman. “Two ghost detectives and a medium who investigate cases for their supernatural clients confront a powerful witch determined to thwart their plans” official synopsis (via Netflix).
As the title of the series suggests, the particularity of this tandem is that both men are deceased, and also met after their respective deaths. Together, and with the help of the clairvoyant Crystal (Kassius Nelson), Edwin Payne (George Rexstrew) and Charles Rowlanf (Jayden Revri) will have to solve different mysteries while escaping creatures, each more supernatural than the last. Including Death itself. We don’t really see what fate the latter could have in store for them, but we will discover it over the course of the episodes.
Dead Boy Detectives will be available on April 25, 2024 on Netflix and is revealed at length with the trailer below. The promise of a fantastic show seems to be there, with its share of paranormal sequences. Will it be successful like Sandman?
From Sandman to Dead Boy Detectives
Dead Boy Detectives is one of the 2024 Netflix series to watch closely. The adaptation of Sandman on the platform was a real hit when it was launched, when the universe was considered unadaptable. Upon arrival, the reviews have been good with a current Rotten Tomatoes score of 88% (press) and 80% (viewers), the number of views has exploded. The Sandman series has accumulated hundreds of millions of hours of viewing, and reached first place in the top 10 shows and films on Netflix. For a period, it even surpassed Stranger Things. We are therefore not immune to similar success and a surprise with Dead Boy Detectives.
