a big surprise teased in the last patch

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has just rolled out a new patch and it’s not just going to bring fixes. Good news awaits players, especially the most attentive among them.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has barely left the ovens of Insomniac Games when players are already looking to the future. However, the studio continues to take care of its newborn. This results in numerous patches deployed based on feedback from the community. And in fact, there is a new one that has arrived in the game. However, it is not just there to correct bugs. He added something that didn’t escape some players, and it could say a lot about the future of the title.

A clue about the DLC for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?

The game is now in version 1.001.004, and this perhaps marks a turning point for future content. For good reason, a very particular element has returned to the game: the panel of the Nelson & Murdock law office. If you’re not familiar with the latter, know that it’s a reference to Daredevil. This little nod to the vigilante may seem trivial, but for a handful of fans, there is no room for doubt. They are convinced that we are dealing with a clue to the first DLC of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Suffice to say that the community is panicking.

But then, why so much fuss over a detail like that? In fact, a few days before the release of this update, the game’s director had an interview with IGN, and he made some rather strange comments. He notably told players to “keep their eyes open” when asked about the Daredevil references. For the moment, nothing has been confirmed, but it would therefore seem strange if it does not go further. Especially since the panel had been removed, before returning with this update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. It would almost be too big to be a coincidence.

That said, we don’t know if the DLC or standalone for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will really concern Matt Murdock. He could simply be in the cast of the game, without being at the center of the action. Moreover, senior narrative manager Jon Paquette recently indicated that a spin-off could see the light of day on Venom. The studio will base itself on “what the fans want”. Therefore, if the majority of players want to play the symbiote, Insomniac Games will accommodate their requests. Will we then see Daredevil in the game? To be continued.
