a big surprise to come? New clues

What if a Tales of Arise sequel or DLC was soon unveiled? Fans have been wanting it for a long time and hope will be reborn after Bandai Namco’s announcement.

The Tales of series, we don’t even present it anymore. Perhaps a little more niche than Final Fantasy, some of the most popular JRPG license, Tales of does not have to be ashamed of the competition. And the latest, the excellent Tales of Arise, will not make us say otherwise. An extremely ambitious opus which marks a turning point for the saga with its renewed combat system and its mature tone clearly designed to appeal to Western audiences. What if Alphen and Shionne make their big comeback soon?

A big announcement coming for Tales of Arise?

Last December, Bandai Namco registered the “Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn” trademark with EUIPO, the European Union Intellectual Property Office. It was enough for speculation to begin to emerge and everyone began to hope for a sequel, or at least a DLC. Unfortunately, the Japanese studio had made no announcement following this filing. But a few weeks from the Tokyo Game Show, there is hope, because Bandai Namco will hold a special stream dedicated to Tales of Arise during the event on September 23on the occasion of the second anniversary of the game. This live broadcast will be an opportunity to look back on the last two years with the actors of the game and to present the latest information on the series Tales of “, explains the studio.

Will we finally know what lies behind Beyond the Dawn? Remember, however, that in July 2021, RPG producer Yusuke Tomizawa declared that no scripted expansion or sequel was planned for Tales of Arise, but we can hope that Bandai Namco has revised its plans following the success of the game, which has sold over two million copies. It could also be an anime produced by Ufotable, which has already made adaptations of Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Zestiria.

A real DLC expected after that of SAO

A few weeks after its release, Tales of Arise welcomed a new DLC in collaboration with Sword Art Online which allowed to face Asuna and Kirito. Additional content not only considered too expensive (about fifteen euros), but also too light by the public, who wants a lot more. Tales of Arise has rich lore, an explosive combat system and charismatic characters (nowhere near as manichean as in previous episodes) who perhaps deserve more than that. See you in a few weeks for a potential big announcement… or a cold shower. Let’s not rule out the possibility of seeing a new Tales of unveiled either, because Bandai Namco explains that the news of the series will be discussed during the conference.
