Last December, Bandai Namco registered the “Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn” trademark with EUIPO, the European Union Intellectual Property Office. It was enough for speculation to begin to emerge and everyone began to hope for a sequel, or at least a DLC. Unfortunately, the Japanese studio had made no announcement following this filing. But a few weeks from the Tokyo Game Show, there is hope, because Bandai Namco will hold a special stream dedicated to Tales of Arise during the event on September 23on the occasion of the second anniversary of the game. Will we finally know what lies behind Beyond the Dawn? Remember, however, that in July 2021, RPG producer Yusuke Tomizawa declared that no scripted expansion or sequel was planned for Tales of Arise, but we can hope that Bandai Namco has revised its plans following the success of the game, which has sold over two million copies. It could also be an anime produced by Ufotable, which has already made adaptations of Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Zestiria.
A real DLC expected after that of SAO
A few weeks after its release, Tales of Arise welcomed a new DLC in collaboration with Sword Art Online which allowed to face Asuna and Kirito. Additional content not only considered too expensive (about fifteen euros), but also too light by the public, who wants a lot more.
