A Christmas Carol: That’s what it’s all about

Ebenezer Scrooge is a miserly businessman based in Victorian London. He wants his employees to work the Christmas holidays and is then visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley. Three ghosts give Scrooge a glimpse of the Christmas of his youth, the current celebration of his employees, and a glimpse into the future.

The three-part miniseries is scripted by Steven Knight, who also serves as executive producer along with Tom Hardy and Ridley Scott (Alien). Nick Murphy (Peaky Blinders) directed the film. Guy Pearce has been cast as Ebenezer Scrooge. Each of the three parts is 60 minutes long.

The author Charles Dickens published the story “A Christmas Carol” in 1843. There are various film versions and adaptations of the popular story. Last but not least, the figure of Scrooge McDuck (Uncle Scrooge) is based on the protagonist from Dickens story.
