Square Enix not only revealed the release date and a new trailer for FF7 Rebirth but also its collector’s edition. It looks good and obviously its price is steep.
The State of Play did not disappoint the players, far from it. Sony has found the right balance between small games, in-house productions and announcements from its partners. Square Enix put on a show by releasing a new trailer for FF7 Rebirth, revealing at the same time the release date of the second episode of this trilogy. Pre-orders are now open and obviously, the Japanese publisher intends to capitalize a little on its fan base with a collector’s edition as imposing as its price.
A collector’s edition for FF7 Rebirth
The date is February 29, 2024. FF7 Remake 2 will continue the new adventure initiated by its predecessor. Cloud and the rest of his little troop will venture beyond Midgar, making a small obligatory visit to the Gold Saucer where several mini-games will await players. By Nomura’s admission, FF7 Rebirth will stop at what was half of the original material, allowing the group to meet new faces like Vincent, Yuffie and Cait Sith. The latest trailer has given enough material to fuel theories and discover elements of the original game in a new light to those who want to analyze the trailer. But Square Enix made another announcement at the same time: the collector’s edition has been revealed.
The Japanese publisher is once again giving us a colossal special edition with a 48cm high Sephiroth figurine, a small artbook or even a steelbook. A well-made and fairly well-stocked collector’s item and obviously that will be reflected in the price. Count €379.99 to get your hands on it, knowing that it is once again reserved for the Square Enix store. In detail, the collector’s edition of FF7 Rebirth includes:
