A couple indicted in Lyon for having passed more than 1000 false health passes


After several months of an investigation initiated by the Bordeaux prosecutor’s office, the couple was arrested this week in Lyon.

A couple from the Lyon suburbs were indicted this week in Lyon, suspected of having passed at least more than a thousand false health passes by hacking the professional account of a nurse from Gironde this summer, announced Friday 21 January the gendarmerie.

These arrests are the result of “several monthsof an investigation initiated initially in Gironde in the summer of 2021, by the Bordeaux prosecutor’s office.

Last August, a liberal nurse working in Le Taillan-Médoc discovered that her professional account dedicated to Covid-19 vaccination formalities had been hacked. Despite the precautions taken by the pirates, who resorted toanonymization software“, the “meticulous and complex investigationscarried out by the gendarmes made it possible to go back to this couple living in the Lyon suburbs.

9000 euros in cash found

During the searches carried out at their home, the investigators got their hands on a handgun, 9000 euros in cash, around twenty mobile phones as well as “a large number of digital media“. In view of “the extent” and of “the complexity of the phenomenon“, a judicial investigation was opened, entrusted to a Lyons investigating judge. Oclaesp and the cybercrime group of the Lyon research section are responsible for continuing the investigations which are now concentrated in Rhône-Alpes, said the gendarmerie.
