a cult license returns in November, but it rages dry

Amazon announced one of the new products for November 2023 and did not do things by halves. An iconic franchise returns in a very special format.

Subscribers to Amazon’s SVOD service are eating very well this month with some pretty huge new Prime Video releases for October 2023. The James Bond collection, the Halloween horror films, great cinema classics or even the new Gen V series – the spin-off of The Boys – is very solid. We do not yet know the extent of the releases for the month of November 2023, but a television show from a cult license is revealed on video.

An event series is coming to Prime Video in November 2023

This month is special for James Bond fans subscribed to Prime Video. Since October 1st, the complete films from Dr No to Specter are available at no additional cost. On the other hand, No Time to Die was not added despite the fact that it was released two years ago. This might disappoint a little, but Amazon has another gift for secret agent fans.

The original series 007: Road to a Million arrives in the new Prime Video releases for November 2023. A new program which is inspired by the concept of reality TV. Eighteen people, divided into pairs, will have to cross the globe for intellectual and physical tests to pocket 1 million. A game piloted by “The Controller”, played on screen by actor Brian Cox (Succession), who will take the candidates to the Swiss Alps, to Venice or even to the Atacama Desert in Chile.

“9 pairs of ordinary people hike steep terrain, set themselves stomach-churning challenges, and answer questions to perhaps win 1 million each. Meanwhile, Brian Cox pulls the strings as the Controller. Will they rise to the occasion or will they collapse like a house of cards in this test of intelligence, endurance and heroism? ». It’s a change from a 007 who works for his majesty.

The first trailer for 007: On the Road to the Million can be seen below and see you on November 10, 2023 on Prime Video for the big premiere.

An exclusive James Bond project that disappoints some

Prime Video’s James Bond series will be divided into eight episodes. In 2022, Variety revealed that the project had been four years in the making. Barbara Broccoli, the producer of the license, supervised the TV show alongside Michael G. Wilson, also co-producer on the franchise since 1979. A guarantee of quality normally, but some are not convinced. On James Bond’s X account, it’s even the big disappointment and it’s slightly annoying.

“No film announced, no successor to 007, but this”; “I thought it was October 5th and not April 1st”; “What a bad idea for a series. It’s like, “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here!” ”, but with a James Bond coating. I don’t see how this is a wise use of the 007 license.”; “We want a new film, not a damn game. Amazon really has an interest in not ruining the franchise”. At least one person finds the idea attractive, while another calls for the announcement of future James Bond films directed by Christopher Nolan (Oppenheimer).

Nolan to resume the saga? It was the rumor that spread, but obviously it would be false. However, the filmmaker said it would be a “incredible privilege” to be able to shoot at least one 007 feature film.
