This is big news for old-school Pokémon Snap players! The game, in Nintendo 64 version, will soon be available on Nintendo Switch online for subscribers to the Additional Pack. So be ready to (re)fall into total nostalgia!
The return of a cult game
Pokémon Snap is a game released in 1999 on the legendary N64, Nintendo’s fourth console. The main purpose of the video game production being to go on a safari in the world of Pokémon. Aboard a cart mounted on rails, players will have the opportunity to meet Pokémon in their natural habitat, interact with them and photograph them.
Each shot is thus noted and the objective is to compose the most complete photo collection possible. In Pokémon snap, it is possible to explore different biomes, seven in total : the beach, the tunnel, the volcano, the river, the cave, the valley and the extravagant rainbow cloud.
The game was so successful that in 2021 New Pokémon Snap was released. The “new” game thus offers more Pokémon to photograph (more than 200 instead of about sixty in the first opus) but also some additional elements including a greatly improved graphic quality.
New Pokémon Snap was released on Nintendo’s latest console, the Switch, and soon its big brother from 1999 will join it.
In effect, from June 24, fans of the license will be able to play Pokémon Snap (N64 version) directly on the Nintendo Switch! Enough to fall back into the nostalgia of the first opus, which has nothing to envy to the second.
How to get Pokémon Snap on the Switch?
In order to be able to download Pokémon Snap (N64), you will need to have the Additional Pack at Nintendo Switch Online. This subscription gives you access to all the benefits of the standard Nintendo Switch Online subscription and adds access to catalogs of Nintendo 64 classics and SEGA Mega Drive, as well as downloadable content from a selection of Nintendo Switch games.
