A date for season 7 and a surprise for Black Mirror fans!

Season 7 of “Black Mirror” will arrive on Netflix in 2025, with a sequel to the episode “USS Callister”. The news broke during the Next on Netflix event in London.

Would you like to experience a bit of dystopia again? Fans of Charlie Brooker’s dark and satirical anthology series will be delighted to learn that Black Mirror will return to Netflix for a seventh season in 2025.

This burst of six new episodes will notably include a sequel to the episode “USS Callister” from season 4, with Cristin Milioti and Jesse Plemons.

The announcement was made at the Next on Netflix event at Picturehouse Central, a cinema and cultural space located in London, on Thursday (April 14). This event around Netflix’s upcoming line-up was the occasion for numerous casting announcements and new features, and brought together stars of the platform.

What next for USS Callister?

Robert Daly is dead, but for the crew of the USS Callister, the problems have only just begun“, declared the streaming giant in the form of a teaser. There is also a small teaser which confirms the news.

This episode of Black Mirror is the sequel to the season 4 premiere, which followed Robert Daly, played by Jesse Plemons, a reclusive programmer who co-founded a popular multiplayer online game.

Daly, a very frustrated boy in life, simulates a Star Trek-style space adventure inside the game, using the DNA of his colleagues to create digital clones of them and directing them as captain of the USS Callister spacecraft.

But new recruit Nanette Cole, played by Cristin Milioti, encourages the other members of the crew to revolt against their captain.

Fascinating and disturbing stories

We can therefore assume that Cristin Milioti will reprise the role of Nanette Cole. We can also hope to find Jimmi Simpson, Michaela Coel and Billy Magnussen who were part of the cast, but we will have to wait for confirmation from Netflix to be sure.

The return of Black Mirror once again promises a dive into fascinating and disturbing stories that explore the implications of technology on our society and humanity.

Fans can already prepare to be pushed to their limits by creator Charlie Brooker’s incisive thoughts on our modern world.
