The deputy of La France insoumise de Seine-Saint-Denis Alexis Corbière was the guest of Europe 1 this Thursday. At the microphone of Dimitri Pavlenko, the elected official returned to the importance of preserving Nupes and wishes to remain united with the rest of the Alliance on the occasion of the European elections next year.

La France insoumise, Europe Écologie Les Verts, the Socialist Party and the French Communist Party, under one and the same label. It is from this desire that was born a few weeks after Emmanuel Macron’s victory in the 2022 presidential election, the Nupes (New Popular Ecological and Social Union). An alliance which was initially only to last the time of the legislative elections, but which has since been perpetuated in Parliament.

Discussions

“This is what allowed us to come out on top in the legislative elections,” said the deputy of rebellious France, Alexis Corbière, at the microphone of Europe 1. But a year after its creation, the Alliance is shaken by differences, with the approach of the European elections in 2024.

“We are discussing” with the other forces, assures the Vice-President of the rebellious group, while the ecologists have expressed their wish not to form a common list next year. The communists themselves, call “to build something else by speaking of Nupes as a ball”, underlines a framework of the Alliance, while the leaders of the formations were gathered this Tuesday evening to discuss the future of Nupes.

Objective 2027

“I am in favor of us remaining united in parliamentary fights. I am in favor of covering the country with joint actions, joint meetings. And I am in favor, on the occasion of the European elections, of ‘a single list’ Nupes, he assures.

“Why? To create a political dynamic that means that in 2027 we have a common candidate and that we win. This is the course that I give to friends who listen to me,” he insists. “And if the strategy is to say that we are going to divide into small groups, well I tell them, we are going to lose. And I don’t want that,” he concludes.
