A fight breaks out in a Paris-Cayenne plane: a steward injured, travelers in shock

But what prompted this outburst of violence on board a flight between Paris and Cayenne on Friday evening? For the moment we ignore it.

What we do know, however, is that three people were taken into custody when they got off the Air Caraïbes plane after a fight on board.

“We have three people who engaged in violence during this flight and there are a number of videos of these events that have been posted on social networks,” said Saturday the public prosecutor Samuel Finielz.

“These behaviors are absolutely unacceptable and intolerable: they call into question both the safety of the flight (…) the safety of the passengers and therefore the prosecution will be particularly firm and intractable on the repression of these types of behavior”, added the prosecutor.

An injured steward

“A steward was injured. Some customers helped our crew to contain this situation, the consequences of which could have been serious without the coolness of our crew, who knew how to perfectly control the situation. You have to allow time for the investigation. In any case, it is unacceptable. These are extremely rare incidents. We reserve the right to file a complaint,” said Eric Michel, deputy general manager of Air Caraïbes to our colleagues in Guyana the 1st.

Violators face prison terms of up to three years, according to the prosecutor.
