The Ninja Turtles are back in action and they’re not pretending. Since last year, this emblematic license of pop culture has been in the spotlight with globally successful projects. In video games, we already had the TMNT compilation The Cowabunga Collection, the very good Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder’s Revenge. At an unknown date, the Black Forest Games studio (Giana Sisters ,Destroy All Humans!) is going to adapt a much-loved tale with TMNT: The Last Ronin. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: a promising and disturbing new game…

Ninja Turtles are everywhere and don’t rest. The Nickelodeon pundits fully intend to strike while the iron is hot, and they would be wrong to deprive themselves. But sometimes it doesn’t work out like with the animated film Ninja Turtles: Teenage Years. Despite the many positive returns, the feature film was not a tidal wave. It would thus have collected 152 million dollars for a budget of 70 million, which would not be enough for it to be profitable.

The release of Ninja Turtles: Teenage Years 2 is therefore uncertain. But Nickelodeon already had another plan to develop this new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles adventure. An unreleased game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem – the English name for Teenage Years – has been announced. And when you read, it makes you want to. The title takes place a few months after the events of the film. This is a game with unique graphics inspired by the bold art style of the feature film. Players will take control of the Ninja Turtles for a team game, with a story full of humor, and will interact with a multitude of unforgettable characters from the license. They will fight to save this stylized version of New York that is plagued by a new mutant threat. ».

Promising? Yes, when you imagine what this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game could look like. But if we look at the announcement in detail, the hype goes down suddenly. This new video game production has been entrusted to Outright Games. Software developers such as Paw Patrol Grand Prix, Peppa Pig World Adventures Or My Little Pony: Ponyport Bay Adventure. Very childish games therefore, which is not to reassure. Even if so, the franchise and the film are perfectly aimed at younger people. Their penultimate title, Justice League: Cosmic Chaos, obviously came as a pleasant surprise to some, although it’s hard to get any perspective on it given the lack of reviews on Metacritic.

This Ninja Turtles game adapted from Ninja Turtles: Teenage Years will be available in 2024 on consoles and PC. The exact platforms, however, have not been disclosed.
