Glenn Viel’s incredible proposal to this candidate just after his elimination

Like every week, the Top chef candidates competed in a series of incredible tests this May 8. It all started with the “modern envelope”. The goal was to create a dish with a product serving as a container and to obtain a harmonious creation. Marie and Jorick emerged victorious of this first stage even if the candidate’s dish disgusted Internet users with its “oil slick” appearance.

Following this, the rest of the cooks gathered around the “best of the best” test created by Yannick Alléno. This asked participants to enhance one of the favorite aspects of a dish, such as the crispy skin of a roast chicken or the caramelized sugar of a crème brûlée. After a long suspense, it was Bryan who was eliminated from the show. But just afterwards, Glenn Viel made the cook a big proposition.

In an interview with Leisure TV Bryan spoke about his participation in Top Chef and his elimination from the M6 ​​program. On this occasion, he revealed that just after learning of his departure, Glenn Viel had offered him a very good opportunity: “Directly, Glenn came to check me out and told me that if I wanted, I could go work with him in his restaurant. It was a nice offer, but one I couldn’t accept. He told me that I was a good little guy, that I should continue to work and that I was allowed to cook. I was really moved.”

The candidate also explained that he was very proud of his career in Top Chef: “I feel rather serene, in tune with myself. Obviously, as a human, we always want to do better, to do more, but I found that I had managed to have a good journey, that I had still been able to propose things that resembled me, and that I hadn’t played someone else’s role.“

A second chance at Top Chef

After being eliminated from Top Chef, Bryan got a second chance on the show. “Two days after my elimination, production called me and gave me an appointment. I didn’t think it was to meet Pierre Gagnaire.”, Bryan told Télé Loisirs. This is how the Belgian tried to re-enter the competition on the theme of soufflé pancakes.

Bryan opted for a creation with tastes “totally barred“, neither sweet nor salty. From the visual, the minimalist aspect pleases judges Pierre Gagnaire and François-Régis Gaudry. Bryan’s bias towards mixed flavors disarms the chefs at the first bite. But after a few seconds, they seem be won over by this risk-taking and it paid off! Bryan joins Shirley to continue the competition in the Hidden Squad.
