Big N just announced an upcoming new Nintendo Direct and there could be some big announcements. We take stock of the games that could be revealed and the rumors.
Rumors have been getting louder and louder lately. While the Nintendo Switch catalog for the coming months is quite empty, it was rumored that Big N was going to hold its summer showcase this week to highlight the future novelties of the year. It did not fail and the Japanese publisher has just confirmed the rumors with a new Nintendo Direct.
A big Nintendo Direct tomorrow
The rumors were right. A new Nintendo Direct was announced on Tuesday. The event will be held on June 21, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. French time. The good news: it would not be a Partner Showcase, but a big generous presentation of 40 minutes. Big N has announced the color: it will mainly focus on this year’s Nintendo Switch releases, including Pikmin 4, the only confirmed game in the line-up. If we turn to the side of rumours, there will be great announcements in perspective. A credible source has revealed that a new and never-before-seen 2D Mario will be featured there, just like Chrono Trigger Remake. This same person who had unveiled Everybody 1-2-Switch! also teased this morning a little something around Detective Pikachu 2.
Suffice to say that the program could be very interesting, especially with the presence of Metroid Prime 4 which hovers. The game’s official page was recently updated, a sign of an upcoming announcement. In general at least, but since Big N had also made a change to the Nintendo Direct page a little before, all lights are green. The famous remasters of Zelda Wind Waker and Twilight Princess could finally show themselves, but nothing is less certain. Obviously, this new event will also give pride of place to smaller caliber productions and games from third-party developers.
