The recent leak on Marvel’s Wolverine, the PS5 exclusive from Insomniac Games, reveals other confidential information including the development of an ultra ambitious PlayStation 5 game.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was released on October 23, 2023 on PS5 and broke all records. In just 24 hours, Insomniac Games sold more than 2.5 million copies. A resounding success despite the traffic jam of video game releases in October which shows the intact appeal of Spider-Man. A full game or spin-off on Venom may see the light of day, if the public is heard enough, but in the meantime, the studio continues the development of Marvel’s Wolverine.
A new PS5 exclusive leaked before its time
This week, Insomniac Games was the victim of a leak. Several sensitive information on developers or collaborators – such as Yuri Lowenthal who plays Peter Parker in Marvel’s Spider-Man – has been stolen and is the subject of a ransom demand. Despite this blackmail, the person responsible for this hack has already posted images of Marvel’s Wolverine online and has leaked other information on the studio’s next PS5 projects.
If new documents are to be believed, Insomniac Games would be working on three PS5 games: RCE, Marvel’s Spider-Man 3… and a Spider-Verse project. The latter is also mentioned twice under this name. Is this really possible? It would be a nice surprise, but not really surprising. In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, there is Miles Morales’ Spider-Verse outfit which allows you to recreate the very special animation of the animated films. It’s so well done that a talented filmmaker reproduced a scene from Spider-Verse in MS2.
And this is not the only clue since Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has an even more direct link with Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse which we let you discover. On the Reddit forums, where the leak was shared, one user thinks it could be Insomniac’s unannounced PS5 multiplayer game.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 and Spider-Verse games in development?

Given how many different Spideys there are, there wouldn’t even be a need for a hero editor. On paper, a PS5 Spider-Verse game is more than enticing given the visual style of the animated films. However, the presence of this name in the document may also refer to something else entirely, such as DLC or something else. In any case, for the theory of a soft multi, it seems to be a bad start. According to various job offers, Insomniac’s multiplayer game should instead be a new franchise, although nothing is confirmed at this stage.
And what about the other allegedly leaked projects? Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 really, really wouldn’t be surprising given the success of the formula. Especially since at the end of the second part and during a secondary mission, there are important leads and teases for a sequel. RCE, on the other hand, is intriguing.
