Fans of One Piece have plenty to look forward to in 2024. Big things are coming for the Mugiwara universe this year. We are thinking in particular of a very popular game which will be exported to a new console this summer, but also of an exceptional event for the 25th anniversary of the anime.
But, before that, there will be reading! The manga ofEiichirō Oda has finally resumed its publication and chapter 1113 has already been revealed on the web… However, the pages featuring Luffy and his crew are not the only pages that readers will be able to browse. In fact, a surprise awaits fans in the next issue of One Piece Magazine.
Return to the origins of an essential One Piece character
The news broke yesterday on social networks, reported by several media specializing in otaku news: n°18 of One Piece Magazine will contain unexpected content. And this one should delight fans of the very popular Zoro, the former pirate hunter!
In fact, the magazine will offer a new story about the legendary swordsman from Luffy’s crew. After the manga heroines, it’s Roronoa Zoro who will owe it to his light novel. The novel will offer a new story looking back at the character’s past, before joining the Straw Hats.
Titled ZORO – Josho Sasakazeit is written by Jun Esaka. The author is well known to manga fans since he has written several Naruto novels, but also previous spin-offs based on Oda’s work: One Piece Heroines and One Piece Odyssey.
This new novel will be an opportunity to delve further into the little-known past of the former bounty hunter. We know a few snippets of his stories… From the start of the story, we discovered, for example, his training as a swordsman. But, the green-haired character still remains surrounded by mystery.
This weekend, the next issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump will feature a first excerpt from ZORO – Josho Sasakaze. Then, the novel will appear entirely in One Piece Magazine, the June 4 next. This new issue will feature a new poster and will devote several pages to Zoro and Sanji.
