Friday February 9, 2024, the 39th Victoires de la Musique took place at the Seine Musicale in Paris, under the presentation of Léa Salamé and Cyril Féraud. A notable feature of this edition was the first woman president of the ceremony, the singer Zazie. Twenty-five artists, divided into various categories, were in the running to win a prize during this live broadcast evening on France 2 and France Inter from 9:10 p.m. Among them, Jain, nominated in two categories, for album of the year and female artist of the year. One of the highlights of the evening was the performance of the singer, famous for her title Makeba widely shared on TikTok with over 400 million plays. And for good reason, Jain’s dark blue dress surprised with its exaggeratedly large size, on top of which the artist was perched. But not to be outdone, the singer changed outfits during her performance. She wore a second sparkling dress in golden colors, while continuing to play the guitar. The team of presenters then praised this original performance. “Well done, Jain for this mesmerizing performance”, then launched Cyril Féraud. And Léa Salamé added: “For the dress!” “For her dresses”, added the host of France 3, before slipping to his colleague: “I told you you were going to be jealous.”. Jain, with two nominations at the Victoires de la Musique for album of the year and female artist of the year, had expressed her gratitude for the recognition of her latest album, The Foolreleased in April 2023. “I’m extremely flattered. I don’t know if we can really get used to that, especially since the last album is very different from the first two. It was a risk taken.
