A jazz concert dedicated to Elden Ring

If Elden Ring is considered by many as a monument, paragon of open world gaming, it is also memorable for its soundtrack, composed by a whole group of talented musicians: Tsukasa Saitoh, Shoi Miyazawa, Yoshimi Kudo, Yuka Kitamura, and Tai Tomisawa. The prospect of re-listening to all these superb songs in the context of a concert is therefore very exciting, and this is what Bandai Namco offers with Elden Ring: A Night in the Lands Betweenjazz performance under the leadership of Kenny Garrett and Takuya Kuroda.

The first is a huge saxophonist, with a career approaching 40 years, and who has played alongside titans like Miles Davis or Marcus Miller. The second excels in the trumpet, with an arranger cap in addition and is already at the head of six albums, including one on the very prestigious Blue Note label. Very beautiful people therefore, who will use certain major themes of the game as bases, in order – jazz obliges – to improvise. Two sessions will take place at Hollywood’s Bourbon Room, next December 3 at 6 pm and 10 pm (Pacific time), that is to say December 4 at 3 am and 7 am at home. This musical performance will not only be “physical”, but also available in streaming and then in video-on-demand. On the other hand give up all hope, these two options are reserved exclusively for the United States.

On the price side, on-site sessions range from $75 to $200 depending on the integrated options (dinner, poster, VIP access, etc.), and fluctuate between $25 and $50 online for the same reasons. The best option therefore remains VOD, at the already rather hefty price of $15. It now remains to cross our fingers for an international release in vinyl, Blu-ray or CD version, in order to take advantage of this original treatment for an OST with epic sounds quite far from the concept of jazz session.
