Caritas and Europark were able to collect an impressive 1.6 tons of food and hygiene items for a good cause. The collection campaign took place in the Europark Salzburg from November 18th to 20th. 1200 people took part in the campaign as donors. Goods are distributed to those in need before Christmas.
The willingness to donate was overwhelming. Around 1200 people donated a considerable volume of 1.6 tons of donations in kind in the form of food and hygiene items within three days. The campaign, which was carried out by Caritas Salzburg in cooperation with Europark, was also able to record cash and voucher donations amounting to around 1000 euros. “We are pleased that the people of Salzburg are sticking together and helping here,” says Johannes Dines, Director of Caritas Salzburg. 21 volunteers were involved in the distribution of the lists of requirements and the logistical organization of the donations. Before leaving the Spar branch in Europark, they interacted with the many customers who showed willingness to donate. The considerable volume of donations collected will benefit people in need in Salzburg. This is not the first time that Caritas Salzburg has collected donations in kind at the Europark. This time, however, you are all the more pleased about the overwhelming sympathy and support.
