A migrant managed to enter the Spanish enclave of Melilla on Thursday from neighboring Morocco by paraglider, we learned this Friday from the Spanish authorities.
“At around 6:15 p.m. (17:15 GMT), two people traveling by car (in Melilla) saw a person paraglidingfly over the high, ultra-secure barrier separating the enclave from Morocco and enter Melilla, said a spokesperson for the enclave’s prefecture. These two people havewarned the Civil Guard” but “migrant could not be locatedfor now, he added. According to this spokesperson, it isthe first time» that a migrant enters Melilla by paraglider.

Located on the northern coast of Morocco, the small enclaves of Melilla and Ceuta constitute the only two borders of the EU on the African continent.
