the release of the DLC is becoming clearer and a big secret has been discovered

Starfield and its first DLC Shattered Space were supposed to be a big part of the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase, but its release date and part of its synopsis were clarified before their time.

Until now, we only knew that Starfield’s first-ever expansion would arrive this fall. We also had no idea of its history or its issues. However, this has changed following a trailer recently released by Bethesda.

Starfield rocket restarts its engines for DLC

After long months only occupied by various fixes, Starfield is finally moving up a gear. Todd Howard promised it, and this time it was verified with the huge patch expected in May. This will notably finally add many elements desperately requested by players such as a Performance mode on Xbox Series or even land vehicles. Bethesda’s new game seems to be on the firing line to receive its DLC, currently announced during the fall.

But the announcement of the Xbox Games Showcase for June 9 was an opportunity, according to some reports, to specify the release date ahead of time. According to the knowledgeable Tom Warren at The Verge, the first Starfield expansion, called Shattered Space, will arrive in September. That’s more or less a year after the release of the original game. And the video highlighting the famous May patch would have told the story as to what Bethesda has prepared for us for this new intergalactic adventure.

The serpentine loop is closed

While we’ll have to wait until the Xbox conference on June 9 to see this in more detail, we at least know that Starfield’s first expansion should focus on a particular faction. In the trailer above, we see lines of code at one point. Looking closer, we can see one word come up several times: Va’ruun. Shattered Space should therefore explore further the mystery around this religious faction worshiping the Great Serpent.

However, we will have to wait until June 9 to find out for sure. In any case, let’s remember that this first expansion of Starfield will naturally pay off. Its price is not yet known, nor its lifespan to see if the game is worth it. These unknowns will find the beginning of an answer in a short month.
