Microsoft’s new spearhead, the Xbox Game Pass has established itself as the unmissable service in the sector. Between its quality monthly additions, its day one releases, access to multiplayer or even the EA Play catalog, the “Netflix” with gaming sauce is already not lacking in arguments to convince. Only one feature was missing: the ability to share your subscription with family members, like video and music streaming services. It will happen soon.
No more enjoying Xbox Game Pass Ultimate solo! The green brand has just launched a test of a new, more expensive but shareable subscription. This much-rumoured family offering is now available in Colombia and Ireland for this trial, but should arrive in other regions soon. More concretely, this Xbox Game Pass Family allows you to share your subscription with four other Microsoft accounts. They will individually have the same advantages, but each will be able to manage their backups, their list of favorites and the set of features as they see fit.
The icing on the cake, it seems that there are no household restrictions on this new subscription. Microsoft also encourages sharing it with friends and not just family. For the moment, this package is marketed at €21.99 per month in Ireland, compared to €12.99 for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. If you already have a subscription, Microsoft will simply prorate the upgrade. In other words, if you have two months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate running, it will allow you access to the “Family” offer for about a month. No large-scale deployment date has been communicated, but it would be soon.
