One of the emblematic antagonists of Spider-Man will have the right to his own film, it is about Kraven the Hunter of which you can discover the very first trailer. A vibrant tribute?
If among the general public we especially remember Doctor Octopus or the Green Goblin as villains of Spider-Man, we must not forget Kraven the hunter either. This one has never had the opportunity to appear in a film adaptation of the comics until now. So it was time to turn the tide with Kraven the Hunter the Movie. Respect for the work on the program?
Kraven who is this villain?
The character is known to be a recurring enemy of the hero Spider-Man and unlike Rhino for example, this one does not have superhuman powers. On the other hand, he is an outstanding Olympic-level athlete, a seasoned tactician, an expert in hand-to-hand combat and a feared hunter. Throughout its history we know that Kraven has for example a great mastery and knowledge of pressure points, both on animals and on humans. This allows him to have a very singular advantage in combat since with his simple fingers he can neutralize a whole panel of opponents ranging from gorillas to tigers. On top of that, he’s mastered the use of exotic poisons and tranquilizers making him one of Spider-Man’s toughest enemies. In the comics with the help of a jungle potion he also develops a kind of ultra instinct which improves his eyesight, hearing and taste. If this does not make him as powerful as Peter Parker, his dangerousness is greatly increased tenfold.
What is this movie ?
The super villain is camped by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who we notably saw at the time in Kick-Ass or Godzilla (2014). The film takes place in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe which already houses Venom or the very disappointing (and catastrophic) Morbius. If the film does not give a lot of information on the scenario, we do know that it should be extremely violent judging by the first images. In the USA it is even noted Rated R is prohibited for minors unaccompanied by an adult. The whole thing will be released in theaters on October 4 next and we hope that the quality will be there to make people forget the latest Sony films from this Spider-Man Universe, which is no small feat. Especially when you know that Morbius got the 16% rating on rottentomatoes.
