The Mediawan group is launching a new free and ephemeral television channel to entertain the French during the confinement period.

On March 17, the French government established containment for a minimum of two weeks to minimize the spread of the new coronavirus. However, this measure has been extended until April 15 and may be extended for some time. If people are creative in dealing with this social distancing, it is not always easy to fight boredom.

From this Monday, April 6, the French will discover a whole new channel. Indeed, the French audiovisual production group Mediawan has decided to contribute to help the population during this period of health crisis by launching #At home. According to JDD, this new channel is "designed to be smart at home and with the family for the next few weeks."

#At home will offer programs "cultural and educational " for young and old alike, every day from 7 a.m. to midnight. The media partners of the initiative will provide free content, whether films (great cinema classics will be broadcast each evening), series, but also documentaries and scientific programs. The channel should also broadcast a program presented by journalist Ali Baddou in order to answer all the children's questions.

"Unfortunately, the media sector does not have the technical means to help manufacture or transport masks or hydroalcoholic gel. You can't help with the sale or delivery of food either. But it was essential that we also help the French in this very difficult period. We all have lots of great shows in our closets. It would have been a waste not to make them available to the public ", explained Pierre-Antoine Capton, the founder of Mediawan, at Parisian.

Chain #At home will be ephemeral and will not generate any advertising. It will be available from Monday 6 April free of charge for the duration of the confinement for all those who have an ADSL box or a subscription. MyCanal.
