Xbox has taken the first step of porting some of its small exclusives to PS5/Switch. But as things currently stand, one of his major exclusions could follow suit.
It is unfortunately a fact: Microsoft’s gaming branch is experiencing significant financial health concerns. Among the solutions explored to catch up, Xbox decided to port some of its exclusives to PS5/Switch. But more drastic measures could be taken soon, such as carrying major exclusives. One of them arriving very soon is the subject of such considerations.
The PS5 soon to be spoiled by a new major Xbox exclusive?
In recent months, bad news has continued at Xbox. 1,900 people were laid off, notably at Activision Blizzard at the end of January, and more recently four studios were closed. To save the furniture, Microsoft’s gaming branch is considering several options. In addition to an increase in the price of Game Pass, there would be talk of even bringing its major exclusives to PS5/Switch. This could be the case of Senua’s Saga Hellblade 2, eagerly awaited on May 21 on PC and Xbox Series.
But before Hellblade 2 is ported to PS5, and for the moment this is only a simple consideration on the part of Xbox, we still have to see if it will be a success. The Ninja Theory title aims to offer a breathtaking cinematic and visual experience (only at 30 FPS on Xbox Series), but which may not be to everyone’s taste. This sequel should indeed be in line with the first: a primarily narrative game, with gameplay that is on paper quite “basic”. Let’s hope for the talented British studio that their new game will be well received both critically and commercially. Otherwise, given the current situation at Xbox, its days could unfortunately be numbered…
