A new ranged weapon is in the works for New World

Even if New World already has a good range of weapons, the developers have not said their last words and are already testing for a next weapon. This one does not arrive in the near future, because remember, the February update will be centralized on the correction of bug and the one which arrives for January 25 focuses on the addition of end-game content.

This famous weapon which is being prepared is the Blunderbuss, a ranged weapon. But what is this weapon?

In real life, the Blunderbuss is a close-range one-handed firearm previously used in the 17th century. It allows you to fire multiple projectiles (flint, coarse salt, piece of glass, etc.) at short range. This weapon is known to be carried by the worst shooters, because this one did not allow to engage in fights at long distance and served much more to defend oneself at short range. It has the effect of a small shotgun, so indeed, precision is not really required.

On NewWorld, the blunderbuss is visible to rogue pirates. They carry this weapon with one hand and a shield and some of these pirates are even somewhat lucky, as they have an akimbo (two weapons in both hands). In the game files, this weapon is very enigmatic, because its skill branches indicate “Control/Chaos”. It’s unclear how the gameplay might turn out, but sometimes just watching rogue pirates is enough to grasp the basics.

New World

This weapon is still under development, as is support David Verfaille, and is unlikely to arrive in the near future. Smoothing the game is the developers’ top priority. Unfortunately, mace and daggers are unlikely to be the next weapons to come into play.

During the January Dev Update, the developers talked about future news and plans for the month of February. The latter have expressed their intentions to make a big smoothing of New World.

During the January Dev Update, the developers gave some very interesting information about the management of bots on New World.
