Ever smaller, ever lighter, the external drives took advantage of the revolution SSD to be even more nomadic.
With the brand new SE880, the manufacturer ADATA markets an external SSD that has nothing to envy to the tenors of the genre. It actually takes advantage of the compactness of the SSD to further reduce the size: we are talking about an SSD of 64.8 x 35 x 12.25 millimeters for 31 grams.
Up to 2 GB/s read/write
If compactness is at the heart of ADATA’s proposal, it does not forget technological innovations. Thus, the SE880 is an external SSD that is plugged into USB 3.2 Gen 2 x2 in order to benefit from remarkable speeds. ADATA conjures up to 2 GB/s sequential read/write.
ADATA specifies that it delivers the cabling necessary for the connection in USB-C, but also in USB-A and underlines a certain openness of “mind” by evoking operation under Windows (8/8.1/10/11), but also macOS (10.6 and +), Linux (Kernel 2.6 and +) and Android (5.0 and +).
The SE880 will be available in two versions – 500 GB or 1 TB – which leaves the field open to some competitors who love large capacities like Sabrent. We have not yet had a firm release date or price from ADATA.
