It sometimes happens that games are announced very (very long) in advance, and this has been the case with several Xbox games in recent years which are still waiting for their moment of glory. State of Decay 3 present for the Xbox Game Showcase 2024?
It will almost be four years since we last heard from State of Decay 3. One of the Xbox Series X|S and PC exclusives announced during an Xbox Showcase. It’s starting to get long, especially since there’s never been a gameplay trailer. But one theory suggests that the game could appear during the Xbox Game Showcase in June 2024. Jez Corden, editor at Windows Central and who revealed some information about Microsoft, published a message on X where he talks about Gears 6. “I’m excited to experience Gears 6 at the Xbox Showcase in June. But there is another game that I am terribly impatient to know the progress of” (via his account X).
Is Jez Corden teasing anything about State of Decay 3? Some are convinced of this and to better understand this theory, you have to take a look at the original tweet. “…there’s another game whose state i’m incredibly excited to learn more about ». This use of the term “state” suggests that the game will be at the event organized by Xbox. And it can indeed be a subtle tease… but also mean nothing or rather not concern State of Decay 3.
Should we be worried about the result after such an absence? Phil Spencer said he was satisfied when he attended a presentation of the title in 2022. “I’m very excited about some of the advancements being made for State of Decay 3” (via Insider Gaming). On the other hand, the previous rumor around the software was more negative. Indeed, for a short time, Nora Shramek, an artist working on the project, posted a publication online with a release date in 2027 for State of Decay 3. A big mistake? The latter was quick to delete this reference.
