The month of September is probably, along with the month of June, the month of the year when we see the most rumors about a Nintendo Direct or a Playstation Showcase. The rumor of the day comes to us from the journalist Jeff Grubb, who is certainly very talkative, but who has often been right in recent months. So when he has fun playing prediction games, he generally doesn’t do it without getting good information beforehand.
Yesterday, he had said that a Nintendo Direct was planned for next week, but had heard that the very recent death of Queen Elizabeth II could shake up the schedule. We inevitably wonder why, even if we can guess that Nintendo did not necessarily want everyone to be busy watching what is happening in the United Kingdom, while avoiding the wrath of English fans who could have cursed against this unfortunate timing (we try as best we can to find a valid reason for all this, what do you want).
But today, Grubb reports that the Direct would not have moved in the end, and that it could take place as early as next week. Something quite unusual for Nintendo, which usually schedules its shows on Thursdays. Except that the Tokyo Game Show is bound to shake things up, since it will start this Thursday, September 15. So will we have an announcement this Monday for a Nintendo Direct on Tuesday or Wednesday?
