A Plague Tale: Requiem: Developer Explains Benefits of No PS4 and Xbox One Versions – A Plague Tale: Requiem

Lately, A Plague Tale: Requiem continues to be at the forefront of the video game scene. Recently, players have, in particular, been able to discover a long sequence of gameplay, shared during the Focus Entertainment Showcase of this year. Previously, details about the background had been revealed.

Recently, A Plague Tale: Requiem director Kevin Choteau spoke about the game for Edge magazine’s issue 374. As you probably already know, A Plague Tale: Requiem will not be coming to PS4 or Xbox One. Thus, Kevin Choteau explained the advantages linked to the fact that the title was not cross-gen, especially in terms of history and gameplay.

[…] In Innocence [le premier opus]due to technical limitations, some shots could look like a theater set […] For Requiem, we were able to push the horizon much further. This allows us, when we write, to envision sequences that were previously impossible, such as chases with hundreds of thousands of rats, locations dynamically changing based on story and events […]

Therefore, although the first opus was already very good and well done, we should see clear graphical and technical improvements in A Plague Tale: Requiem. However, we will have to wait a few more weeks before getting our hands on the rest of the adventures of Amicia and Hugo.

A Plague Tale: Requiem will be released on October 18 on PS5, Xbox Series, PC and Nintendo Switch (Cloud version). Several editions are planned as well as pre-order bonuses. In addition, if you want to know more about the game, know that we have concocted a summary article for you about this second opus of the A Plague Tale license.
