We now have confirmation that a big exclusive is coming on PS5, but Sony has another major information for us. It concerns upcoming releases in 2024 and early 2025.
The year 2024 promises some great releases on the PlayStation side. We’re talking about PS5 exclusives, and there are two that come to mind. First we have Rise of the Ronin, whose visceral gameplay has piqued the curiosity of many players. But we also have Stellar Blade, which was recently at the heart of a controversy regarding its heroine. However, is that all? Does Sony have any other surprises in store for us? Well, obviously it is and we even have a name for you.
A new exclusive on PS5 is revealed
So be careful, we don’t have much to eat. Don’t expect new images on PS5, or even a trailer out of nowhere. Here, we are dealing with a trademark registration from Sony Interactive Entertainment. In the United States, on February 12, he registered the name “Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet”. This time, it caught the attention of a certain number of people, for the simple reason that it is the first time we have seen such a title. But then, what could we be dealing with?
For the moment, it’s difficult to say. This is clearly a new IP, but it’s quite rare for the name to be registered before the big announcement. Of course, given the title, we can already start to make theories about the form that the adventure will take. The word “Intergalatic” obviously reminds us of space, but that’s about it. Overall, we remain in the dark. Besides, will this be a PS5 exclusive? On this point, there is little doubt to be had, particularly when we look at the firm’s comments in its latest financial report.
A big announcement from Sony
To be more precise, it was Hiroki Totoki who spoke. As a reminder, he is the operational and financial director of Sony (president of the group until April 2024, after which he will be interim CEO). Our man made a statement regarding the exclusives coming to the PS5 for the next fiscal year. The latter will take place from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025. The plan is not to release new games that come from major licenses like God of War or Marvel’s Spider-Man.
When it comes to first-party games, we look to continue to focus on producing high-quality works and developing game services. Even though major projects are in development, we do not plan to release new titles from well-established major franchises in the next fiscal year tax.

Priority will therefore be given to less “important” exclusives in the Sony landscape. It is important to note that this may concern new intellectual properties like Concord or the famous game we talked about above. This is also the case for established franchises like Until Dawn, as they are not considered major. From there, we can only make assumptions about upcoming releases for 2024 and early 2025. That said, it allows us to have a more precise idea of what awaits us.
