Member of the jury of the 27th edition of the Alpe d’Huez International Comedy Film Festival, actress Eye Haïdara answers our special comedy questionnaire.
It is alongside Valérie Bonneton, the president of the jury, that Eye Haïdara discovers the films in competition for the 27th edition of the Alpe d’Huez International Comedy Film Festival. For a few minutes, the actress spoke with AlloCiné to talk about the films that make her feel good.
Your favorite comedy?
Haidara Eye: A Prince in New York with Eddie Murphy because I watched it a lot of times when I was a kid. I know it by heart. It’s one of the rare American films that I can watch in French. There, the work on the French version is great. It’s a film that will always make me laugh and brings back childhood and family memories.
Your favorite comic actor or actress?
They are not necessarily comic actors but people who make me laugh when they do comedy. For example, Jeanne Balibar makes me laugh, Catherine Frot too. This year, for example, we just saw Nous, Les Leroy (presented in competition at Alpe d’Huez, editor’s note) and Charlotte Gainsbourg, who doesn’t often do comedy, is great in this register. It’s a genre that suits him very well.
Your favorite comic scene?
I could watch several Dikkenek scenes over and over.
The comedy you would have liked to play in?
The Heartbreaker! The film makes me love it. I don’t know if I would have done better than Vanessa Paradis, or I could have done Romain Duris too.
The film that cheers you up?
All the Rocky Balboas. It’s an ode to life, to courage, there is ambition and a lot of love. There is everything in this saga.
What is the quintessential French comedy?
The Meaning of Party, without hesitation! (laughs) I’m sorry it just came out! The writing is crazy. It is a microcosm that can be modeled on anything. In the world of cinema, it’s a little bit like that too. Everyone is part of a different team but in the end everyone is doing the same job. Making a marriage happy and good on a movie set is the same thing. It’s full of humanity.
