Surprise, EA is currently working on a big Marvel game that will feature one of the most popular superheroes of the stable and yet too little represented in video games.
Marvel is a veritable mine of colorful characters, of superheroes, each more charismatic than the other, and yet, very often, the media only highlight a handful of them. With the arrival of the MCU, many of these comic book heroes have been able to shine on the big screen and expand their fan base, a certain Black Panther is one of them.
A Black Panther single-player game announced!
And it is indeed the king of Wakanda who will soon have the right to his solo adventure. EA has just announced the upcoming arrival of a brand new superhero game developed by one of its brand new Seattle studios called Cliffhanger Studios led by Kevin Stephens, former president of Monolith Studio. This new game, was formerly known under the code name Rainer and had been the subject of several rumors.
If we know absolutely nothing about the game, it would obviously be an open world. A third-person action-adventure game that will also rely on its narration. According to the developers, this new game will be an opportunity to “feel what it’s like to be worthy of the Black Panther costume in a unique way based on the story”. The studio goes even further and claims that the game will be a ” ultimate and authentic Black Panther experience ».
Marvel in the spotlight
The superhero will therefore have the right to his solo release in addition to soon sharing the poster with Captain America in Amy Hennig’s next game. EA for its part exploits other well-known superheroes of Marvel fans this time since it is Iron Man who will return soon in a game which will be entirely devoted to him. Hoping that the latter is much better than the previous ones.
Lately, we have been rather spoiled in terms of Marvel games with in particular the excellent Midnight Suns, which unfortunately did not meet the expected success, or the very very good The Guardians of the Galaxy from Square Enix. Without forgetting of course Marvel’s Spider-Man by Insomniac whose second episode will arrive at the end of the year or even marvel snap, a very good card game on PC and mobile. Hope it lasts.
